I went to the fireworks, on the 4th of July. And I decided tot ry to take pictures of them. Here is one of the pictures. (P.S. This is a test.)

I was sitting at my desk. On my desk their was a plastic fork. My roommate walked past me (and my desk). She stopped and stared for a minute.
I realized I had picked up the fork and started combing my hair with it.
"It's a dinglhopper!" I insisted.

Today at dinner we had fun. We were building a tall tall tower of (plastic) glasses. It had gotten to be pretty tall, about 15 glasses tall. Then, *WHAM* out of nowhere came a brussel sprout. It flew right into the middle of our tower and knocked the entire thing down. Someone with very good aim down at the far end of the table had thrown it. (This was after the two girls who were eating underneath the table had left. No one knows what they were doing there - perhaps they were performing a sociology experiment, perhaps they just didn't feel like eating at the table.)

The other day I found out that The Corrs are going to be playing a concert about ten minutes away from my house - a week after I have to leave for school. I am pretty close to devastated. The Corrs!! Playing at the outdoor music stage near my house, at home! Who'd have thought! And because I am going to be a Student Advisor next year (have I told you that yet? I don't remember. My school doesn't use the RA system that most schools use. We instead have a Student Advisor on each floor, and a Resident Life Coordinator in charge of clusters of dorms. The RLC is a paid position given to a college graduate, the SA position is a volunteer, but applied for position given to regular students. SAs get single rooms), I have to go to school a week early. If I weren't going to be an SA, I would be home for the concert. It would be a perfect way to end the summer. Instead, I'm going to be stuck here in the middle of Iowa, while The Corrs play practically AT my house.
And do you know what one of the coolest things is? I have been on that stage. The high schools in my district hold graduation there. Freshman year, when I was in orchestra, I played in the graduation. I played my violin on the same stage that Sharon Corr is going to play her violin. Isn't that cool? Kind of? If you are really easily excited? I also walked across the stage for my own graduation, but I think the violin thing is cooler.

I was just on the radio!!! On Kathy and Judy on WGN Radio they were talking about the recent surge in biting ladybugs. So, I decided that I wanted to call in, because I always want to call in. So I dialed, and it was buy and I dialed and it was busy and I dialed and it was busy, for a long time. Then I dialed and it rang and rang and rang and rang and then someone picked up. "Hello, WGN Radio". And then my heart beated (beat?) really fast, because it's scary! And I said that I was in school in Grinnell, Iowa and that we had those biting ladybugs here too. So the guy who answered the phone (I think it is a producer or something) said that I could go on! So he put me in "line". (You are on the phone, and you can here them, but they can't hear you.)
So, then I heard, "And now we have Rebecca calling", and of course I don't know what I said. But I know I said that I was at school in Grinnell, Iowa, and we have the biting ladybugs here too. And then they asked about homecoming, and I said that I don't think we have a homecoming. (I don't think any colleges have homecomings, do they? They probably thought I was in high school. After I got off, my mom, who I was talking to through instant messaging, told me I sounded like I was 8 years old.) And then they said "oh, you are at a school in Iowa, not Iowa" (So maybe they just thought I went to University of Iowa?). And I said "Yes". And they said, "Oh, Grinnell, isn't that a really good school?". And I said, "it's pretty good." And they said, "Is Grinnell like Carleton?" And I questioned, "Carlton is a liberal arts school, right?". And they said, "yes", so I said, "yes". And then started asking me if I liked my roommate. So I told them I had three, and yes, they were all pretty good. And then they asked if I had a boyfriend, and I said no. And they asked if I had a boyfriend at home, and I said no. And then we said bye to each other. And I said "Thanks, bye". And I hung up the phone, and put my earphones back on, and heard myself saying "bye". (Because there is a lag time, in case someone says something they need to beep out.) And I really did sound like I was 8.
And there was a lot of other stuff I wanted to say, but gosh, it's scary! WGN has a really strong band, and they broadcast online, so lots of people listen!
So, if you listen to WGN Radio and Kathy and Judy and heard someone named Rebecca talking about ladybugs today, that was me!

Last night I was babysitting, and the little girl asked me to polish her nails, so I did. Then she asked me to put the same polish on my nails (so that we could be twin princesses), and I did. It was a light pink polish with glitter. I tested it, and it wasn't that peel off Tinkerbell stuff that you can just rub with your fingers, and have peel off. It seemed to be real nail-polish. This morning I was looking at my hands, and there was no nail polish on my fingers. They are now nail polish free. I never took the nail polish off. It just disappeared. I don't get it. Where did the nail-polish go!?

Ooh, Everwood Spoilers. Very nice! I really like Everwood. It reminds in of Picket Fences in that it picks issues to discuss throughout the episodes, instead of only focusing on teenage angst and family relationships. Except luckily, Everwood isn't as corny as Picket Fences.

Imagine... You're 12 years old and just discovered how to make a webpage.
You just discovered the wonderful world of moving gifs and huge images.
So, what do you do? You make your own web page, complete with all the things that make the internet wonderful.
Or so you think.
This is the webpage for that part in each person. The part that wants to have lots of moving images.
The part that wants to take lots of online quizes and surveys.
Just look at all the stuff the web has to offer.
You want to swallow it all up, and apply it back to your one little peice of space on the web.
This is the space...
